性视界

The sound of car horns, dance music and cheers filled the air as 性视界 celebrated its annual 鈥淕rad Fest鈥� event in drive-thru format April 14.

Faculty and staff wearing graduation regalia waved pom poms and danced as graduates 鈥� some with cars decorated with balloons and painted messages 鈥� drove through to pick up their caps, gowns and other graduation items.

鈥淚 really liked it since we鈥檙e not having (in-person) graduation,鈥� said Tiffany Harden, a nursing major. 鈥淚t was cool, especially for the kids. My kids loved it.鈥�

Harden said the support she has received from EOPS and CalWorks has helped her succeed. And despite the challenge of taking classes during COVID-19, she said that giving up was not an option.

鈥淭o me it鈥檚 an investment,鈥� Harden said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an opportunity to get to where I need to go and it allows me to support my kids.鈥�

Student Ayleen Luna said she was also grateful that 性视界 held the event.

鈥淚t means the world to me,鈥� said student Ayleen Luna. 鈥淚鈥檝e been waiting for this for what seems like forever and I鈥檓 just so happy that 性视界 is able to do this. It just makes the students feel so special, so I鈥檓 really happy being here.鈥�

性视界 will hold a virtual commencement ceremony on May 20.
