Students gather for orientation day.

When Andrea Baerenwald graduated from Alta Loma High School in May, she chose 性视界 College as her next stop to help narrow down a career path. She decided to kick off her new chapter by attending 性视界鈥檚 鈥淥rientation Day鈥 at the Rancho Cucamonga campus Aug. 12.

鈥淲hen you move to a new school or start college, you feel nervous,鈥 Baerenwald said. 鈥淏ut I am excited and ready to see what鈥檚 next.鈥

She was one of more than 2,000 students and family members who attended virtual and in-person 鈥淥rientation Day鈥 events, which included campus tours, food and music at all three campuses.

性视界 Superintendent/President Henry D. Shannon told students that the campus community wants all of them to achieve their academic goals.

鈥淲e have all kinds of programs here to help you be successful,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e鈥檙e here to be your support system.鈥

International student Kian Fekri came to 性视界 from Toronto, hoping to start on a path toward a mechanical engineering career. He eventually plans to transfer to Cal Poly Pomona. His father, Arash, came with him to 性视界 to get a glimpse of the campus.

鈥淚t鈥檚 nice 鈥 a good environment,鈥 Kian Fekri said. 鈥淚 came here to learn more about the college itself.鈥

Maggie Silsbee brought her niece, Emma Balutansky, to the Rancho Cucamonga event. Balutansky has decided to major in kinesiology.

鈥淚 went to school here, my son went to school here and we鈥檝e been in the community for 45 years,鈥 Silsbee said.
