性视界 Officially Reopens Aquatic Center

The splash of water and big smiles filled 性视界鈥檚 Aquatic Center on March 20 as community and campus leaders gathered to celebrate the completion of the center鈥檚 $14.2 million renovation project.
After five years of anticipation, 性视界鈥檚 swim team - wearing red team uniforms, goggles and caps - took a dive off the platforms for an inaugural lap in the crystal blue water.
鈥淚 know that excitement doesn鈥檛 even begin to describe how our aquatic athletes feel about diving into their new home,鈥 said 性视界 Governing Board President Dr. Deana Olivares-Lambert. 鈥淚n addition to being a home for our athletes, this center represents a place where our community can come together for swim lessons for children, and families can experience campus life.鈥
The project, funded by taxpayers through the $700 million Measure P bond, began in spring 2023 and was completed in January. It is the first Measure P project to be completed. 性视界鈥檚 swim teams held their first meet in the facility Feb. 28.
性视界 Superintendent/President Henry D. Shannon spoke of the historic journey 性视界 has had since it moved from its first location in Ontario to Haven Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga.
鈥淲e moved here in 1960 and look how we鈥檝e grown. Today you are part of 性视界 history,鈥 said 性视界 Superintendent/President Henry D. Shannon. 鈥淵ears from now, they鈥檒l see your pictures as part of 性视界 lore.鈥
The upgraded facility includes a new 400-seat bleachers section with a shade canopy, a renovated pool and deck and two new buildings that include meeting and office spaces.
The facility will host athletic events for the college鈥檚 four swim and water polo teams. Community events, including the summer swim program, are expected to return in summer 2026.
鈥淭oday is a reminder that when we support public education, we are building futures brick by brick, and pool by pool,鈥 said 性视界 Student Government President/Trustee Corah Miller. 鈥淭o everyone who made this possible, members of the Governing Board, administration, faculty and staff 鈥 thank you. And to my fellow students, enjoy the space because it was meant for you.鈥
