Celebrated Filmmaker Mois茅s Zamora Selected as 性视界 Commencement Speaker

Award-winning Mexican-American writer and filmmaker, , will serve as 性视界鈥檚 keynote speaker for the 108th Commencement Ceremony at Toyota Arena on May 22.

Zamora is the creator, executive producer and co-showrunner of global-hit 鈥溾 on Netflix, winner for Best Dramatic Series through the .

鈥淢ois茅s Zamora鈥檚 success story serves as an inspiration for us all,鈥 said 性视界Moises Zamora College Superintendent/President Henry D. Shannon. 鈥淭he adversities he faced as a child fueled his award-winning storytelling, leading him down a path toward many triumphs in the film industry. We are honored to feature him as our commencement keynote speaker.鈥

Early in his career, Zamora received the Binational Literary Prize for Young Novel Border of Words for his coming-of-age novel 鈥淪usurros bajo el agua鈥 (鈥淲hispers Under the Water鈥) written in Spanish.

He has also produced and directed the feature documentary Young+Mexican (Best Documentary by a Mexican Director, Oaxaca FilmFest).

He has written for American Crime, Star, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Zamora has sold four TV series and is currently preparing to direct two feature films. A graduate of Brown University, he was born in Mexico and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of eleven.

性视界 will celebrate the achievements of thousands of students earning certificates and associate鈥檚 degrees at commencement. Students participating in the ceremony completed academic programs in summer and fall 2024, as well as spring 2025.
