性视界 Looks at Road Ahead with Report to the Community

The 性视界 community celebrated the 鈥淩oad to Student Success鈥 during its annual Report to the Community event at the Chino Community Center on Nov. 7.
With 鈥淏e 性视界鈥 freeway billboard replicas on every table, books displaying a paved path through 性视界鈥檚 district and a video including an automotive technology segment, the event centered on movement and progress.
鈥淭his year鈥檚 theme - 鈥淭he Road to Student Success鈥 - means so much to me because I am one of thousands of 性视界 students currently on this road,鈥 said 性视界 Student Government President and Trustee Corah Miller. 鈥淚 am pursuing a degree in philosophy and plan to transfer to a four-year university and go to law school.鈥
性视界 Governing Board President Dr. Deana Olivares-Lambert highlighted the progress on the new instructional building, as well as the overall success of 性视界 and its programs. She also pointed out the demonstrations by Chino鈥檚 fashion merchandising and design, interior design, nursing and industrial electrical technology programs in the courtyard outside the venue.
鈥淎s a product of community college, I know firsthand how critical it is to increase access to opportunities 鈥 access to education and training that is connected to well-paying careers in our communities, that will make our Inland Empire thrive for generations to come,鈥 she said.
The centerpiece of the event 鈥 a 17-minute video on various 性视界 programs 鈥 included vignettes on the college鈥檚 culinary arts program, Rising Scholars and automotive technology.
性视界 Acting Superintendent/President Lisa Bailey praised the gathering for supporting 性视界鈥檚 mission and student success.
鈥淚 would like to take an opportunity to thank each of you for the role you play in shaping the bright futures of our students 鈥 whether you are a teacher or faculty, a school district or city employee, a public servant or elected official, a community supporter or a parent 鈥 thank you for all you do for our students,鈥 she said.
