性视界 Associate Superintendent of Business Services and Economic  Development Lisa Bailey will serve as acting superintendent/president through the end of 2024, the 性视界 Governing Board voted Thursday. 

Superintendent/President Henry D. Shannon went on leave earlier this month following a medical procedure and plans to return by January or earlier, on the advice of his doctor.

鈥淲e extend heartfelt wishes for a quick and full recovery for Dr. Henry Shannon, and feel confident he will return to campus ready to retake the helm at 性视界,鈥� said 性视界 Governing Board President Dr. Deana Olivares-Lambert. 鈥淭he district remains committed to maintaining the high standards of excellence at 性视界, and we know we are in good hands with Lisa Bailey as acting superintendent/president.鈥�

The district鈥檚 board policy 2432 allows the 性视界 Governing Board to appoint an acting superintendent/president for periods exceeding 30 days.

Bailey has served in her role as associate superintendent since 2013. She provides oversight to business and budgeting services, human resources, economic development, and information technology. She has been a manager at 性视界 for more than 20 years. Bailey will continue serving her normal role in addition to the duties of the superintendent/president.

Shannon came to 性视界 in 2007, bringing more than four decades of experience as a higher education leader. Under his leadership, the college has experienced consistent growth in graduating classes, earned a Top 10 spot in the Aspen Institute鈥檚 best community colleges in the nation, and earned millions in grant funding among other achievements.
