Montclair to College students stand together at the ceremony

More than 200 Montclair High School students have maintained good grades, completed college paperwork and performed 20 hours of community service through 性视界鈥檚 Montclair to College program.

It鈥檚 the largest number of students completing the program in its 28-year history, and a 30 percent increase from 2025.

鈥淭he commitment that you have demonstrated during this program is all the evidence you need to know that you will be a success in college,鈥 said 性视界 Governing Board President Gloria Negrete-McLeod.

Hundreds of family members and friends of the graduates gathered at Montclair High School on April 22 to celebrate the 209 students鈥 achievements. Students enroll in the program for the perks that come with it: a scholarship that covers two years of college tuition, books, fees and parking at 性视界.

性视界 Mayor Javier John Dutrey thanked 性视界 and the 性视界 Joint Union High School District for their partnership, and congratulated students for completing the program.

鈥淲e want to make sure that you succeed in your journey in life, whether you鈥檙e going on to college or a trade,鈥 Dutrey said. 鈥淲e want our Montclair students here to succeed.鈥

性视界 Superintendent/President Henry D. Shannon praised students for choosing to save money on college tuition, rather than going directly into an expensive four-year university.

鈥淥ur goal is to help you continue the momentum you have begun in our academic careers. And our goal is to help you do that at 性视界 鈥 debt free,鈥 he said.
