Course Refund Policy

Students may view their refund deadline dates by logging into the , selecting the 'Registration widget, and choosing "info."

Eligibility Requirement for Refunds

Students must officially drop or withdraw from a class before 10% of the course length has passed. Refund dates for full term, fast track, 14-week and summer classes vary.  (California Code of Regulations, Title 5, Section 58508) The refund deadlines for shorter-term courses (Fast Track 8-week & 14-week) typically fall within 2 days of the start date of the course.

 A student will be charged fees for classes he/she is enrolled in, even if the student does not attend any class meetings. It is the student鈥檚 responsibility to ensure all classes are dropped by the refund deadline to avoid being charged. 

Automatic Refund Process

Students do not need to request a refund for the following:

  • Credit amounts of $20 or more
  • Class(es) canceled by the college
  • CCPG* or Panther Promise reimbursements (No refund request required).

Refunds are processed within 45 business days after the last day to add full-term classes. Refunds will be issued to the original method of payment, except for cash payments.

  • Cash payments: a refund check will be mailed to the student's address on record.
  • NBS Tuition Payment Plan:
    • If payments were made by credit card, the refund will be issued to the same card.
    • If payments were made through ACH or a checking account, a refund check will be mailed to the student's address on record.

To avoid delays, students should verify that their mailing address is current in the My性视界 portal before refunds are processed.

Please request to terminate your NBS Payment Plan by email at cashier.staff@chaffey.edu if you are due a refund.

Credit Amounts Less than $20

Students with a credit amount less than $20 must send a request from their panther email to cashier.staff@chaffey.edu with the following information:

  • Student's full name
  • 性视界 ID Number
  • Refund credit amount

The refund process will begin for the student once the Cashier鈥檚 Office receives the email request. Students will receive their refund within 45 business days from the date of the email request. The deadline to request a refund for a credit amount less than $20 is the last day of the current semester.

Course Drop/Withdrawal after the Refund Deadline

Students who withdraw from a course or from the College after the refund deadline are not eligible for a refund.

Canceled Class(es)

Students will receive a refund automatically if the department cancels a class. (No refund request required.)

Parking Permit Refund Process

To receive a parking refund, the request must be submitted on or before the appropriate refund deadline date. To access the form, please click on the following link .

California Virtual Campus (CVC) Exchange Student Refund Policy

Students are eligible for a refund if they drop their course(s) by the refund deadline, become eligible for the California College Promise Grant, or if the College cancels the class. Refunds will be issued using the original method of payment.

Financial Aid CCP Grant*/Panther Promise Account Rebill Reimbursement

Students who paid for classes prior to receiving a CCPG* or Panther Promise Grant will receive a refund 45 business days from the day it was awarded on the student's account. The CCPG* or Panther Promise Grant must be processed and posted to the student's account by the last day of the current semester.
